When we sat down this evening we realized that we had not blogged since last Saturday following the football game! It has been a busy week here in McCamey and while we've not been active in the blogging arena, we have made up for it elsewhere!
Highlights of our week thus far:
Sunday - what else can one say except - "whew!" Charles said he wasn't at his best preaching Sunday morning but the congregations were so encouraging all the same. We enjoyed a meal at Elena's with the Lester's following the Convalescent Center service, it is so nice to unwind after three services!
Monday - we were off and running: Belinda to the wellness center and Charles to wrap-up the newsletter for this month and to start the paperwork for th annual church conference sessions.
Tuesday - Charles went to Odessa to visit someone in the Ector County Jail and then paid a home visit here in McCamey. Belinda continued her frentic pace at the wellness center!Charles stopped long enough to take a picture of the swallows that congregate in the parking shed next to the parsonage. The birds take a mid-morning coffee break there each day.
Wednesday - Charles drove to Big Spring for a VA appointment this afternoon and then came home, visited with the choir members before their practice and then mowed the parsonage lawn. Charles' day was made special by a surprise gift in the mail: Two buttons for his collection from his high school friend, Joan (who lives in Dallas). Belinda was a whirlwind all day long and barely had time to put the car in the garage when she got home from work before launching again into two hours of choir and hand bell practice!
We did have a beautiful sunset this evening, courtesy of a storm that passed to our south. No rain however, perhaps tomorrow?
