Saturday at the Deerwood Summerfest

Waking up this morning with the sound of cats in the house was a special treat, and the cool weather here is another! We found out about a nearby town's summer festival and made our way to the village of Deerwood for the celebration. It was great wandering around the wares on display that were created by some very talented local craftspeople.
Good thing we don't have any place to keep stuff or we'd have picked up some real treasures!!!
Belinda got her lunch from the American Legion Auxilery, and she said it was the best "sloppy joe" she's every had! Charles meantime picked up a turkey leg from the Lion's Club and enjoyed every juicy bite! Both of us got desserts from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church booth: Wow, was it good!

On the way back to Aitkin, we stopped by the Cuyuna Country Club , where for $30 Charles will be playing some golf in the not too distant future!

With rain falling this afternoon, it will be restful time to recharge the batteries and get ready for Sunday!
