A busy Saturday (part 1)

Our calendar is so full today that our blog entry had to be done in two parts! The morning was spent with three events, each with its own charm and energy.

First up was a drive to Pine Lake Chapel UMC were they offer a "Hunter's Breakfast" each year on the last day of deer season. A good turn-out was expected and the rainy weather that had hung over the county for two days was nowhere to be found in the cheery fellowship hall.

After sharing time with the Pine Lake Chapel folks we headed to Crosby where the legendary "Spirit of Christmas" was underway at Immanuel Lutheran Church (ELCA). The range of homemade crafts and baked goods was impressive enough but we were told secveral times that we should have been there earlier in the morning to see the tables groaning under their loads.

Before leaving Crosby, we stopped at the Crosby-Ironton Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) for their "Holly Days Bazaar." We got their just at the end of the event but we were so happy to get a terrific-looking pumpkin pie (for only $5!) which we'll be taking with us to a dinner party tomorrow! We also had heard from a shopper at the Immanuel Bazaar about the famous potato sausage and being the bold shoppers we are, well, we just had to get some for our friends, Leon and Judy!

Whew! A bit of rest before the rest of the day's events taking place tonight. Come back again for the recounting of the evening's events.
