Is It Really November In Minnesota?

Wow, the weather is surprising everyone here in Minnesota this week! After being grey, cool and rainy for most of October, we are having a "heat wave" this second week of November. It was in the upper 50's today, and with sunny skies overhead, it was time for us to venture forth!

We ended staying with our friends, Judy and Leon, at their home in Aitkin last night, as we were visited by a hyper-active mouse at the cabin Sunday and Monday evenings. So when we greeted the new day it was with a friendly pooch, "Oreo," rather than the nature sounds at the cabin. Belinda took advantage of being in town and got a rather stylish "hairdo" at Jeanie & Co. She looks wonderful!!!

In the afternoon, Charles took advantage of the nice weather and got in a round of golf at Emily Greens Golf Course just north of Aitkin. This course is one of the few left in Minnesota still operating at this time of year. Its claim to fame: It is the location the largest putting green in Minnesota with 16,750 sq. ft. of green to navigate.

Belinda met up with Pastor Judy, and together they went to the Pine Lake Chapel United Methodist Church's United Methodist Women's meeting. A lively and lovely group of ladies made for a very enjoyable afternoon!

On the way back from Emily, Charles passed a field with standing water from last week's rains. In the field was large flock of Trumpeter Swans. What a majestic creature and to see it in the wild was very special for Charles. He was also rewarded with sighting two white-tailed deer in an open field. This was a surprise, as hunting season is going on!

Now we're in Brainerd for supper with Leon and Judy and two of their friends, Ardie and Jack. Thanks be to God for a lovely day!!!
