Today marks the First-ever Annual Turkey Trot: A 5-k walk/run to promote healthy living! What a great idea, right?! The day after the BIG Thanks-giving feast, why not get out and work off some of those calories! Registration fees collected will go to support the local high school band and choir departments and local charities. The event is sponsored by The Aitkin Women of Today, a chapter of Minnesota Women of Today.
The fun started with a children's a quarter-mile "trot." The children were accompanied by parents, siblings and Aitkin High School mascot, The Gobbler! The quarter mile trot would be followed by a 5K (3.1 miles) walk and then by a 5K run.
